Nnepra

The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) is the public transportation authority that manages the Amtrak Downeaster service. It was created in 1995 by the Maine State Legislature to develop and oversee the restoration and operation of passenger rail service between Maine and Boston and points within Maine. As the business managers of the Amtrak Downeaster, NNEPRA provides the leadership and support necessary to deliver a quality passenger rail service that exceeds the expectations of customers. NNEPRA's goals are to meet the economic, social, and environmental objectives of stakeholder; deliver value and benefit to the public and contribute to a modern, integrated transportation system.
