No Excuses Mentoring Program

The No Excuses Mentoring Program (N.E.M.P.) was founded by Orlando Norwood in 2016. Since its inception, there have been 190 members ranging from grades 9th-12th. During the 2020-2021 school year we had 31 members ranging from 11th-12th grades. These at-risk youth were selected because of academic concerns, behavior issues, or the lack of parental support. Our Vision : “To ensure that EACH member is college or career ready once he graduates from high school.” Our Mission : “To engage students in experiences that provide individualized academic journeys and pathways of study through mentorship.” Our Motto : “Do not make excuses, just make it happen!” Our Slogan : “Excuses are tools of incompetence.” Our Principles : “Scholarship, Leadership, and Community Service for All Mankind!”
