NOBILIS, from the Latin Nobile, distinguished, in good taste… It is under this name that Adolphe HALARD, founder of the company, opened in 1928 a shop, 29 rue Bonaparte, between the Saint Germain des Prés church and the School the fine Arts. By surrounding himself with renowned painters including Suzanne FONTAN, recognized for his romantic style and his joie de vivre, he became the editor of wallpaper and fabric collections: the NOBILIS spirit was born, mixing up-to-date tradition and favorites, with great concern for the quality of colors, materials and designs.
