Noplasticapp

We are creating NoPlasticApp, a nonprofit open source smartphone app. NoPlasticApp uses barcode scanning technology, enabling people to easily, efficiently and, on a massive scale, reject plastic packaging, and insist retailers and plastic producers cease their use of plastic packaging nationally. NoPlasticApp will also be a hub for sharing all British and global plastic campaigns, opening up opportunities for more people to participate in campaigns. We will share information and improvements in the global situation, bringing together all the different kinds of information about plastic pollution and resolution. NoPlasticApp will create an empowering sense of virtual community amongst users, through the sharing of campaigning statistics. NoPlasticApp will be open source. Our focus is plastic campaigning, but NoPlasticApp will pave the way for other campaigns to use similar technology and revolutionise the traditional campaigning tool of petitioning. We are in the initial stages of creating NoPlasticApp. We seek funding to develop and create NoPlasticApp and to gather widespread interest and support ready for NoPlasticApp’s launch.
