Nordic Rebalance

SCIENCE FROM NATURE: FOR A STRONG GUT BARRIER Nordic Rebalance is a Danish-Swedish company with more than 15 years of experience in postbiotics. We bring together Nordic nature and cutting-edge science to develop solutions that support gut health and barrier function. Our flagship product, ReFerm, is a unique postbiotic food made from microbially fermented oats. During fermentation, natural compounds are formed – including lactic acid and other short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) – which can be further metabolized by the gut microbiota into butyrate, the most important energy source for the intestinal barrier. Oats are also naturally rich in beta-glucans, fibers that stimulate butyrate production. Butyrate is essential for maintaining barrier integrity, supporting the immune system, and reducing low-grade inflammation, according to a growing body of scientific studies. Research published in peer-reviewed journals has documented beneficial effects of ReFerm in both everyday gastrointestinal challenges, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and in advanced clinical research settings, including liver cirrhosis and ulcerative colitis. As one of the few postbiotics with scientifically documented effects already available on the market, ReFerm embodies our mission: to combine science and nature for stronger gut health.
