North West Simon Community

North West Simon Community is one of eight Simon Communities of Ireland, preventing and resolving homelessness in Sligo, Leitrim & Donegal. The charity provides homes with low supports to 31 individuals and families in Donegal & Leitrim. Our current services include: Housing Advice and Information - Information is power – Our Housing Advice and Information Clinics provide support and advice specific to each household’s personal situation. Key issues with which households require support are applications for Housing Assistance Payment (HAP), local authority housing, and managing an existing tenancy. Tenancy Sustainment - support aims to help people keep an existing tenancy by equipping them to cope with day to day problems. Key issues with which households require support are Budgeting, Accessing Local Authority Housing Support, Landlord disputes, obtaining or maintaining private rented accommodation, managing rent payments, or accessing social welfare entitlements. Resettlement Support - Finding and moving to a secure home is one of the most stressful situations people face in life. North West Simon’s Resettlement Support focusses on helping people to find a suitable place to live, after a period of homelessness. If a person is living in temporary accommodation or can no longer continue to live at their current address, North West Simon seeks to provide advice, guidance, and practical supports to help the household find alternative long-term accommodation.
