Northable Matapuna Hauora

At NorthAble Matapuna Hauora, our journey began in 1989 with a small group of individuals who, with lived experience of disability, identified the lack of readily available information about disability services in Northland. From our humble beginnings as a Disability Information and Advisory Service (DIAS), we have evolved into a comprehensive organization at the forefront of the disability sector in Te Taitokerau. Our commitment to fostering well-being and independence is reflected in the diverse services we offer: NASC Service: Free assistance for eligible individuals with disabilities. VHN Service: Ongoing support for those with Very High Needs. Transition Service: Guiding students through post-education plans. LYNKZ Programme: Empowering individuals aged 16-64 with disabilities. Āhei Internship Programme: Providing meaningful work opportunities for youth with disabilities. Whangarei Budgeting Services: Confidential financial support for effective money management. EQ+: Northland’s largest supplier of equipment for impairments, including rentals. DIAS: Offering relevant information for individuals, caregivers, and the public. Total Mobility Programme: Aiding enhanced mobility for people with disabilities. In 2005, we officially embraced the name NorthAble Matapuna Hauora, symbolizing our commitment to a holistic approach to well-being. Under this banner, we continue to grow, incorporating new services to meet the ever-changing needs of our diverse population throughout Te Taitokerau and Aotearoa New Zealand. As an organization, we take pride in our dedication to fostering inclusivity, independence, and well-being for all.
