Northern Precision Plastics is located in Belvidere, Illinois, approximately 30 minutes northwest of Chicago. Our two buildings have over sq. ft. including our new state of the art printing facility and an assembly area for electronic components and custom packaging. Operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with three shifts. The five main processes that constitute operations are injection molding, thermoforming, CNC routing, digital printing and final assembly. When Northern was first started in 1992, injection molding was the only operation we performed, but as time has progressed, we have expanded to better meet our customer's needs. Thermoforming and CNC routing are two processes that go hand-in-hand. Thermoforming gives us the capability to start with a sheet of plastic and form a part. Our CNC routers then enable us to modify and trim this part to the customer's specifications. With the addition of digital printing we can give a custom look for a three dimensional image right in house and are capable of providing complete decorated plastic products.
