Around 90% of UK households are overpaying, because the whole system is built to exploit how busy and distracted we all are: discounted introductory rates that hook you in, mid-contract price hikes calibrated to be the highest amount that doesn't sound outrageous, and providers holding their breath at renewal hoping you're too busy to move.
