Nova Atmosphera

Nova Atmosphera is a non-profit civil society organization (OSCIP) based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, which has been operating for over 90 years, committed to comprehensive education, social equity, and pedagogical innovation. Founded in 1934 by Helena Antipoff and Pedro Aleixo, it began as ASPEJ (Association for Assistance to Small Newspaper Sellers), supporting vulnerable children and youth. Over the decades, the institution has evolved, updating its educational approach to meet the challenges of the present and future. Since 2017, it has consolidated itself as Nova Atmosphera, bringing together school and social projects in a model that values autonomy, creativity, and citizenship. It has developed its own methodology, Escola Livre (Free School), which focuses on socio-emotional skills and fostering innovative mindsets.
