Four friends and coworkers working in state government often spoke of the need for more CPA's specializing in governmental accounting services from audits to agreed upon consulting engagements. The longer they spoke, the idea of "someone needs to do this" became "We can do this!" A short time later, Novum Advisory was created. In Latin,"Novum" means "something novel" or "new beginnings", and that is exactly what we at Novum want to offer. While the idea of a CPA firm specializing in government is not necessarily novel, we believe our approach is a new way to look at auditing and management. Our goal is to not only help clients, but to help fellow CPA firms. Since 2020, governments have increased need for audits and accountability, only to see the staffing pool decrease.
