Np Psychiatry

Ryan Rifkin is a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) who is board certified (BC) to provide psychiatric and mental health services to individuals of all ages. Psychiatric nurse practitioners are advanced practice nurses with experience and training allowing them to make clinical diagnoses, interpret lab results and findings, prescribe medication and provide psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. Psychiatric services refers to his expertise in medication management and evaluation services. Ryan studied at Tufts University to receive bachelor's degrees in public health and sociology. During this time, Ryan conducted research focusing on immigration, gender and sexuality related issues in health outcomes. After working in a research capacity and in community health, Ryan Rifkin studied at Columbia University to receive his bachelor's degree in nursing and became experienced as a nurse in the emergency, cardiac ICU and psychiatry service lines as well as community health settings. Ryan Rifkin additionally received his master's degree at Columbia University to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society. As a nurse practitioner, Ryan is experienced supporting clients in a range of settings including those treating children and families, treating individuals with substance use concerns and improving mood, anxiety, attentional difficulties and other disorders in those of all ages. As a nurse practitioner with his suboxone waiver, he is able to prescribe suboxone therapy when indicated. Ryan has also lived in Europe and is proficient in Spanish.
