Nu Architectuuratelier

NU architectuuratelier is a working platform for intense architecture and design research, founded in 2004 and led by Armand Eeckels and Halewijn Lievens. From a deep interest in culture, nature and the well-being of people, NU strives for an empathic, tactile and strong architecture that is close to the people who come into contact with it and that touches every aspect of our existence. Often complex spatial issues lead from a highly developed design research to expressive projects. NU translates this vision into a wide range of projects, ranging from large public projects, urban development projects, housing renovations, new housing developments, group housing projects and projects where a customised approach is required. Based on the conviction that architecture can make an essential contribution to a good life and provide a handhold for people who need support in their spatial environment, NU develops many care-related projects. Architecture can be an anchor point here, a means of staying connected to the environment and the world around us. In addition, NU is committed to a fundamental transition to a more sustainable building sector and is investigating how to reduce the ecological impact of building practices at different scales. Collaboration plays a key role here. By forging sustainable alliances with experts, NU aspires to break existing patterns of thinking and inspire all construction partners involved to take a more sustainable course together.
