Bhaaiji.com | At a time when the hyperlocal model was still a novel concept in India, We launched Omex eCommerce, a parent company created to bring disruptive ideas to the e-commerce space. Our first product, Bhaaiji.com, was a bold step in that direction - a full-stack hyperlocal app offering everything from grocery and flower delivery to salon bookings, restaurant reservations and curated local deals. Bhaaiji quickly gained momentum. Within just the first 15 days, we attracted 100+ paying customers purely through word-of-mouth and 25+ dark stores. Our early innovation earned media coverage across 12 major publications and opened up local employment opportunities, making the platform more than just a business — it became a local enabler. Despite the strong user interest, I chose to step back once the unit economics signaled cash flow challenges. Online payments, logistics infra, and consumer readiness for app-based local services were still in their infancy. In hindsight, we were ahead of the market curve. Rather than scaling prematurely and risking unnecessary capital burn, I made the conscious decision to protect investor funds — exiting with valuable insights rather than avoidable losses.
