On The Same Page Boston

On the Same Page Boston is a book-based nonprofit organization at Emerson College working to fill understocked libraries in the Boston Public Schools. To date, nearly books have been donated to K-8 schools in Dorchester, South Boston, East Boston, Brighton, Roslindale, and Hyde Park. All children deserve uncomplicated access to literature. In 2021, it was reported by Build-BPS Stakeholders Coalition that about 40% of Boston Public Schools did not have a functioning library. Books are the foundation of children’s futures, so investment in children's literacy is essential to helping the next generation thrive. On the Same Page Boston was founded by Cathryn Edelstein, Professor Emerita. Professor Niko Emack is currently running the project. Each semester, a new class of students in the School of Communications takes charge of the fundraising campaign, generating engagement, support, and book buying.
