Onkout has been developed to provide alternative financial access as a first step toward broader financial inclusion. Transaction accounts allow people who are unbanked or facing object poverty to sell, save, spend, and receive payments. By bringing such a system into an unstable market, such an intervention helps circulate finances within the community and begins to normalise such transactions in a safe manner. Moreover, the system can help remove (the predatory behaviour variable) from the equation when supporting Survivalist, MSMEs, and IDPs. Onkout was specifically designed to address challenges in conflict-affected environments. The goal of Onkout is to improve people's access by providing them with a variety of financial tools. For example, Onkout enables people who own or run MSMEs and their customers to sell, save, spend, and receive, knowing their personal details are protected from all criminal activities, such as AML and CTF. Thus, our vision is to create reliable, robust, and stable financial services that allow the movement of money, the auditing of transactions, and the regulation of a larger macroeconomic system.
