Born today from 40 years of harvests!"O.P. ITALIA" is a cooperative society made of 40 family-owned companies committed since over 40 years in the production of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially table grapes, situated in one of the most vocated areas. The productive capacity of the associates is tons of the main varieties of table grapes. Some of the founding members already established collaborations with European FMCG companies over the last years. The product packaging process is performed directly in the field or in a specific plant: 1300 square meters available to the associates, a large area dedicated to processing, a storage/refrigeration area composed of n. 2 refrigerated rooms, a platform for loading and one for unloading of goods, a 100 kW photovoltaic system for the production of green energy. The plant is suitable for processing of food as provided by EEC REG. 852/2004 and with auto-control program (HACCP) The extension of 'O.P. ITALY is about 350 hectares, located inside a territory with a very high calling for viticulture, belonging to the production district of "PGI CANICATTI' ITALIA GRAPE" straddling the provinces of Agrigento and Caltanissetta. The production principle of all crops of our members is the INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT, the right compromise between the focused protection and the organic defense, in situations where the latter cannot be applied. For us, integrated pest management is not only an environmental impact reduction system, but a philosophy: we are aware to take on higher costs, knowing that this will ensure the trust of our customers and the excellence of our fruits. Considerating the adoption of such techniques which respect the environment and health, we have adhered to the EUREPGAP voluntary certification.
