Founded in 2011, the Open News Group is an innovative media organisation that has successfully developed a new model for community news publishing. With over two million printed copies across 10+ printed publications and 25+ news websites the group continues to grow and the model continues to be refined and improved. Open News operates existing publications owned by the group as well as an increasing number owned by third parties who find our services to be high quality and efficient. Using knowledge and systems developed over six years Open News now offers a consultancy service to help organisations operate their existing publications more efficiently as well guidance for growth, development and start-up of new publications. In addition to publications and consultancy we offer those important professional services including graphic design, photography, editing and writing, sales and marketing, online and social media expertise and printing. We assist not-for-profit groups in many ways including offering discounted advertising and discounted consultancy and publishing. Some of this work is focused on programs to help unemployed and disadvantaged people gain skills, confidence and transition into work. Open News can now assist larger businesses and corporates with their content marketing and advertising needs through a range of community publications, new publications and a network of writers and influences.
