Open Up Music

We're a charity that works alongside young disabled musicians to challenge preconceptions and bring about greater diversity in music. Through the National Open Youth Orchestra, the world's first disabled-led national youth ensemble, we're pioneering a new creative orchestra where talented young disabled and non-disabled young musicians rehearse and perform together. With Open Orchestras, we're behind the largest community of inclusive ensembles in the UK running in special schools. We've also developed Clarion, an award-winning accessible instrument that can be played expressively with any part of the body, including the eyes. Together we can make positive change happen!
