Optical Heritage Museum
Located in Crane St, Southbridge, the OHM is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to researching and preserving the history of the optical industry from the 19th Century to the present. Established in 1983 to commemorate the 150 year anniversary of AO, the museum is home to both thousands of historical optical collectables including microscopes, lensometers, lenses and antique spectacles reflecting the history of AO production in Southbridge. Culminating in over 350 years of combined optical expertise, research and artifacts from American Optical, SOLA Optical and ZEISS, the museum is one of the largest collections of ophthalmic products in the world and a tribute to the evolution of optics and the effects the innovations have had on improving our everyday lives.
