Optimatter - Rehab Assistance

I’m Rob McLellan BSc, a rehabilitation assistant and aspiring psychologist. For the past 9 years, I have nurtured my passions to make an impactful change to the world of health and catered them towards rehabilitation. My journey began at college where I first studied A level Psychology, Chemistry (Organic and inorganic), subsidiary diploma Medical Science with an additional qualification in core + additional maths. A psychology graduate as of 2021, I have been employed under a number of job roles since, starting my path in schools as an agency SEN teaching assistant, where I was able to first apply my understanding of disabilities. From which point I progressed to become a therapy assistant, starting my first client work with complex brain injuries. I am now able to recognise the need for bespoke provision of services to clients. I am commended consistently by numerous healthcare professionals skilled in building rapport, providing person-centred support, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. It was my also priveleged to work as an assistant case manager, where my understanding of client-centred approaches surged. My eagerness to learn allows me to adapt effectively when client needs are centred around their many unique traits. Since I embarked on this journey, I remain motivated to learn and contribute to a team environment.
