Orange Strategy Waste Value

Orange Strategy Ltd is a female led waste recycling firm that is leveraging technology as an effective means for collection of recyclable waste from households in Ogun State Nigeria, using our mobile application (WasteValue) and USSD codes. We encourage households to sort their waste from source, separating recyclable waste from general waste and earn 'Value Points' in exchange for this. These Value Points can be converted into cash, food items, household items, vouchers and stationery. We are also addressing poverty by creating a source of income for vulnerable women and women living below poverty line. This is achieved by employing vulnerable women on our work force, we also support women living below poverty line by setting up mini collection hubs for them within their local communities, they gather recyclable waste in large quantity while we buy from them at the prevailing market price per time. Our target is to empower 50 women in each local government area in Ogun State Nigeria. We have been able to set up this mini collection hubs for 7 women in Abeokuta South LGA and 3 women in Abeokuta North LGA Ogun State, our target is to achieve the setup of 100 mini collection hubs in across the 20 local government areas across Ogun State. We are sustaining a clean environment and reducing carbon emissions as these recyclable waste serve as raw materials for the production of finished and semi-finished goods, this is a better alternative to sourcing for virgin raw materials, as it prevents greenhouse gas emissions that would result from extracting or mining virgin raw materials.
