MANUS: I Record the Truth That Words Cannot Reach I don’t just take photographs. I perform a Ceremony of the Gesture. I am a daughter of the Venezuelan diaspora, and my work was born from a haunting void: the realization that while I have photos of the faces of those I love, I had no record of their hands—those tentacles of the heart that molded my soul before distance and exile tore us apart. From that hunger for memory, MANUS was born. I believe the hand is the most honest part of the human body. It is the only part that doesn’t know how to lie. It is where our labor, our grief, our resilience, and our capacity to love are etched in bone and skin. In my work, I strip away the noise of color to find the raw, timeless pulse of existence in Black and White. I wait for the soul to speak through a twitch, a scar, or a resting finger—capturing the silent poetry that happens before the first word is ever uttered. My Mission: Rescuing the Heartbeat of Humanity. Having exhibited in Rome, Athens, Bali, and Santiago, my vision has transcended borders. I am here to build a global archive of our collective identity. I am a guardian of the 'magic of doing,' capturing the hands of the world to prove that, despite the uprooting and the distance, we are all connected by the same human pulse.
