1986 OPENING OF THE ORLOFF BOUTIQUE HOTEL ON HYDRA The adventure started when Petros Kladakis a mathematician running his own private school in Athens decided to set out for a new venture, and transform his family holiday home, into a small hotel on Hydra. At this time in the eighties, tourism was still a challenging business but his mindset was to inaugurate a new way of life. He was joined in this inspiration by Maria Kladakis, a bank executive with legal studies, and Marylise Sauliere, “science po” graduate and marketeer, who departed from Paris, out of her passion for Greek islands and archaeology. 1996 CREATION OF THE ORLOFF OF HYDRA PERFUMES The Kladakis family met Jean-Paul Guerlain, a hotel guest, and decided together to revive an old recipe of mediterranean fragrance. That is how the new team entered the business of fragrance manufacturing and marketing. The idea was to propose a Greek fragrance to tourists, as a souvenir to bring back home, after their holidays. TAKING UP SKIN CARE REPRESENTATIONS During a long period of time, the hotel and the perfume business evolved independently, until 2018 when all activities were reunited into a single legal vehicle, the Orloff SA company, under the patronage of Konstantinos Kladakis, a lawyer and the next generation at the stir wheel. All the members of the board sharing the same love for French language and culture, it was only natural to nurture contacts in the industry through fairs and exhibitions and take up new representations of brands either perfumes or skin care. 2023 NEW VENTURES The arrival of the new generation just before the covid years gave a new impulse to the company, with the development of the retail channel -the collaboration with Attica premium department stores, the integration of new brands in the portfolio, i.e Puredistance perfumes, the opening of a sister property on Hydra Island, the Orloff Legacy suites, and the extension of the commercial territory to Cyprus and Albania.
