The current Virtual and Mixed Reality landscape is fragmented and defined by closed ecosystems. Users face a frustrating cycle of planned obsolescence, with devices that are difficult to repair, impossible to upgrade, and lacking true personalization. This model is costly for consumers and creates significant electronic waste. At Osmose, we are challenging this status quo. Our mission is to create the first open hardware standard for VR and MR headsets. We are developing the first truly upgradable and modular mixed reality headset, empowering users to finally take control of their hardware. Our ultimate goal is to pioneer an open ecosystem, encouraging others to create modules and fostering a strong community of hackers, developers, creators for users.
