The Rapid Assessment of Writing (RAW) is an automated screening tool for the real time identification of students with handwriting proficiency below their grade matched peers. Our universal screening tool is designed to meet the equity needs of learners, which has become especially important due to the lasting effects of the pandemic on remote learning. RAW ensures that all students have an opportunity to reach their potential by making the early identification and remediation of handwriting deficits easy, adaptable for use in an inclusive environment, and most importantly meaningful to teachers, students, and parents. By improving the early identification of students that may require services, our screening tool aims to improve student outcomes and reduce school system therapy costs.
