Otelo Egen

Otelo eGen is a research and consulting company based in Vienna and Upper Austria with focus on regional development, education, digitization and fostering social innovation. In addition, Otelo eGen operates a voluntary research and development network, called Otelo, with currently 33 locations and around 600 active members. The network of open technology labs initiates, develops and conducts interdisciplinary, easily accessible research- and experimental laboratories, which counteract migration related problems, unemployment, increasing poverty, the loss of regional identity and culture. Through the combination of diverse social innovation techniques, such as the use of new organisation principles, new technologies, and local communication and networking platforms, sustainable employment and education models can be created.
