Otis Company was created in 1980 as a development and management company of real estate properties to work in conjunction with Otis Associates, Inc, a large suburban architectural firm providing a wide range of development services. Otis Associates established in 1970 by James Otis, Jr. grew to be one of Chicago’s largest firms and by 1980 it was determined that a real estate development firm was necessary to deliver the full range of services required in design, build, sale, and lease back opportunities. Otis Company has become a well-known and respected firm actively involved in virtually every aspect of the real estate industry, from managing a 1,700 acre site in Missouri to managing and leasing the tenant office space in a premier Chicagoland office building.
