Overcoming Adversities

We are the only organization in Puerto Rico specifically created to serve young people in foster care. We are created by foster youth for foster youth and we believe mentorship can transform lives. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that works to reduce inequity and poverty in Puerto Rico by communicating alternative thinking strategies to help foster youth acknowledge and embrace their full potential. OCA does not provide clinical or therapeutic services, instead serves as an interaction-based support system that presents insights participants can consider to improve their lives. Through our Alternative Thinking Program, Puerto Rico's most vulnerable youth can access mentorship and meaningful support that targets their economic mobility and self-preparation.
