Pacific Forest Alliance

PFA works in partnership with local landowner groups by enabling the development of projects chosen & approved by the local landowners. These projects assist landowners and their communities by improving standards of living and generating additional and sustainable sources of income. PFA ensures the protection of rainforests by securing and utilising the carbon sink potential of each Forestry project area. PFA follows the United Nations (REDD) Reducing Emissions from Deforestation mechanism and the process is verified by global carbon trading bodies such as CCBA and VCS. How We Work The Pacific Forest Alliance (PFA) initiative protects Pacific and their indigenous communities by the reduction or cessation of full scale commercial and unsustainable logging and by assisting in the development of sustainable community based social and environmental projects. These are chosen by the local landowners and their communities to help provide an improved standard of living, education and health care. PFA work by securing and utilising the carbon sink potential of each Forestry project area and then, through enabling the development of projects that assist local landowner groups and their communities generate alternative and sustainable sources of income.
