I am an independent scientific advisor with a unique perspective as a rare disease patient. Drawing on my dual expertise as a PhD-trained scientist and patient advocate, I offer comprehensive services to foundations, nonprofits, individual rare disease patients and families, and industry partners passionate about patient engagement. I assess and advise patient organizations on their research readiness and steps to refine research goals and priorities. I capture the research and drug development landscape in specific disease areas through literature reviews, identifying key researchers and clinicians active in those fields. I guide the development of meaningful and sustainable research programs by defining organizational values, planning collaborative research networks, and leading scientific working groups. I also facilitate the establishment and expansion of research infrastructure, such as scientific/medical advisor teams, grants programs, and advisory services for other research initiatives like registries, biorepositories, and clinical research studies. Additionally, I support the planning and implementation of educational research communications, create materials for knowledge translation, and capture and share the impact of research programs.
