PainMD Houston is Dr. Mukalel's second venture into business ownership and first medical practice in Texas. Previously, he was in Tampa Florida focusing on opioid free therapies to treat Floridians in chronic pain. He moved just north of Houston to the suburbs of The Woodlands, Tx in 2018, as the Director of Pain Management for Northwest Anesthesia and Pain Services. After re-organizing the pain service into a profitable entity, he helped grow the company into a multi-physician group, implementing best practices, organizational structure and billing competencies. In the summer of 2019, Dr. Mukalel started PainMD Houston PLLC (along with St Jude Medical Consultants PLLC, MD Anesthesia PLLC, Spring Anesthesia PLLC, Neuro Defense PLLC), an unique, patient-centric, Diagnostic, Interventional Pain Practice. The practice prides itself on accurately identifying various pain sources through diagnostic X-ray and Ultrasound guided local anesthetic blocks. Once pain generators are determined, he uses an algorithmic approach to his treatment protocols, which routinely achieve complete pain relief. The practice specializes in limiting monthly patient office visits and allowing patients to have an pain and opioid-free (#NOpioids) life they were meant to have. PainMD Houston also utilizes infusion therapies and regenerative medicine therapies as an adjuvant to care. The practice is unique and personalized for each patient.
