PAIS is a privately owned for profit company founded in 1991 by Dale M. Rice, M.A. and incorporated in 1993. Mr. Rice founded the company due to his recognition of the limited choices for services available within the state of West Virginia in addition to the often questionable quality of services that were available at that time. This was true particularly in the area of developmental disabilities. Originally a psychological consulting company, PAIS now provides a person-centered home and community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, as well as case management services.
