Why would you go to a park? If you ask us — to relax, to read, to meet friends, to have a drink. For an abundance of scientific reasons, we know that being in nature soothes and calms our minds and that our involvement within our neighbourhood helps weave together the threads of our community. Parks allow us to get away from the daily grind but also help us to deepen bonds over stimulating conversation, nurture relationships with people we care about, and share experiences with friends and family. They are an essential pillar in forming these habits of practice and help us, individually, create a genuine sense of belonging. We are the sum of the people that surround us. Though as good as they are, and as often as we’d like to visit, parks are not a common staple in our daily routine. Unlike coffee shops. In 2017, we wanted to create a place that would combine the mental benefits of a park within a space full of nutritionally delicious foods and specialty goods curated from the best our city has to offer. We called it Park. Park joins Myodetox, a manual therapy clinic, in providing a full mind–body rejuvenation. Start the day right by enjoying a light breakfast with a cup of freshly roasted coffee, get a lunch-time physio appointment and grab a healthy snack on the way out, sit down with a book or ponder what’s going on in your life in an undistracted environment, settle in to wind down from a hard day at work and treat yourself to a light snack. At Park, our priority is your mental well-being. We care about how you feel in our space. Comfort, drinks, interiors, food, lighting and sound are all considered and fine-tuned, so the only thing left for you to do is to relax and recharge.
