PartKart’ is an integrated e-marketplace for refurbished automobile parts that was established in 2019. The online platform offers a unique proposition to make quality-checked and authenticated multi-brand automobile spare parts available for individual car-owners as well as automobile workshops at significantly affordable prices. The refurbished car parts/ spares market has always been highly unorganized, without any guarantees of quality, operability and compatibility. Over the last decade, there has been an exponential increase in automobile sales in India. Growing ownership of cars has also caused a spurt in the cost of automobile repair and maintenance. Furthermore, with a spate of newer car models introduced every year, the spare parts availability for a large number of older, road-worthy automobile models is also a growing challenge. We at ‘PartKart’ aim to address these challenges through our organized digital marketplace that offers high quality refurbished auto parts that are carefully sourced, tested and verified for performance and reliability. As more and more cars are phased off or discarded, ‘Partkart’ tries to greatly increase the sustainability of product cycle, by refurbishing automobile parts and further increasing their utility. Thereby, we not only decrease automobile scrap generation but also help in lessening the environmental impact caused by the automobile industry. In the coming years, ‘PartKart’ seeks to explore the following avenues for diversification and scalability: 1) Expand services to include LCVs/Transport vehicles segment, where refurbished parts have always been conventionally used in repair and maintenance 2) Refurbishment of vintage and classic cars / imported premium cars 3) Establish supply tie-ups with non-company owned car resellers 4) Offer installation support to individual customers
