Path & Green

Path & Green's mission is to provide hope and a future to Lorain County girls in need by ending hygiene insecurity and period poverty. The vision of Path & Green is every girl who lives in Lorain County would start school with confidence and dignity because she has the basics she needs to succeed. Path & Green provides two programs for Lorain County girls living in poverty. The first is our EssentialCare Program for 9th-12th grade. Our EssentialCare Bags provide a personalized order of personal care products which can include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, deodorant, face wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, lip balm, tampons, menstrual pads, or menstrual cups. Personal care products are given one time per school semester and menstrual items are provided up to four times per semester for each girl who places a EssentialCare order. Our second program called HygieneHaven provides a bag of hygiene items including a bar of soap, deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, menstrual pads, and Path and Green educational brochure discussing the importance of taking care of one's hygiene and mental health. These bags are given to 5th grade girls who have recently completed their school's curriculum on how their bodies are changing. The items provided in both programs are essential to maintaining good hygiene which makes up two thirds of our health. Additionally, maintaining good hygiene positively contributes to a person's self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being. Lastly, Path and Green also wants girls to feel worthy, loved, and valued so an encouragement note and when available, luxury items are given in each bag we provide.
