Patient Matters is a private bedside advocacy and care-giving service whose goal is to make a patient’s time spent in the hospital as safe and stress-free as possible. By offering quality, individualized assistance to patients and families, we provide our clients with the peace of mind they need so they may focus their energy on healing and recovery. Patient Matters steps in when family members are unable to be with their hospitalized loved-one due to distance, time, careers and other professional and family obligations. We are at the bedside to monitor medication delivery, hand washing, IV changes and other potential hospital errors and omissions. In addition, we convey urgent status updates in real-time to family members providing them with a safety net and a vital communication link that is non-existent in today’s frenzied and fragmented health care system. Finally, and equally valuable, Patient Matters tends to the personal issues of care and companionship, helping our client to be as comfortable as possible, and to relieve the feeling of isolation that is so common during a hospitalization. Patient Matters focuses on the patient, not the illness. We serve as our client’s champion as we promote their safety, assert their unique needs and preferences and make sure that the medical care they receive respects their personal dignity.
