At PHFS, one of our foundational values is that every child has the right to a safe and healthy home. Because of that, we are leading the charge to confront the reasons foster care exists. From Operations to Marketing to Family Care, every team and ministry at PHFS is designed for and dedicated to this charge. Our Mission: To build communities of faithful relationships that ensure children are safe, and families are restored. Why? Vision 30! By 2030, we want to see every child in Central Virginia (or “our region”) safe in their own family or in another setting with caregivers supported by a local faith community. How? We meet families right where they are to provide healing, restoration, and hope… Family Care The Family Care team programs that provide housing for single mothers, support for kinship caregivers and foster families, short-term placements for children, and long-term placements for children. Their goal is to bring families out of chaos and into groundedness and resilience. Connect Our Connect team partners with volunteers, churches, and agencies to strengthen families and keep them strong. They give community members a place to enter in and support their neighbors in need. Hope For Tomorrow Counseling Sometimes people just need someone to talk to. We’re here to listen because everyone’s story should be heard. Hat Creek Camp Virginia’s premier trauma-informed camp and retreat destination that offers year-round programming and availability for event reservations.
