Paul de Ruiter Architects believes in the future. Since the foundation of our practice in 1994 we work on sustainable, innovative architecture that focuses on the health and happiness of people. For us, sustainable technology and aesthetics are inseparable. Creating a more sustainable world requires that the appreciation of a building's appearance is as important as its energy efficiency and the health of its indoor environment. Our vision is built on the core principles of innovation, sustainability, identity and interaction. We operate on the belief that research and innovation can lead to the development of aesthetically pleasing buildings that are sustainable, energy-efficient, and healthy to inhabit. These buildings are designed to literally and figuratively energize and inspire occupants and boost productivity. They are intelligent structures with a tangible impact on society. Our office is situated in a former steel workshop that we meticulously renovated and transformed into a business complex housing several creative companies. As a B-Corp certified design studio, we embrace a new form of business conduct, dedicated to making the world a better place. Paul de Ruiter (1962) founded his practice in 1994. He regularly lectures, writes articles for magazines, and serves on the Programme Council of ARCAM. Paul de Ruiter Architects is dedicated to promoting a sustainable society through various initiatives. The firm is affiliated with The Green Case, participates in the Dutch Green Building Council, is a member of the BNA, co-founded the Transition Formula, established the DGBC Lab, and sponsors Vacancy of Business.
