The world around us is changing rapidly. More than half the global workforce say they are closer to burning out than they were five years ago. The World Health Organisation says that by 2020 work-related stress, burnout and depression will top the list of the world’s most prevalent disease. Gallup's 2017 State of the Global Workplace report says only 15% of employees worldwide are engaged at work. In America US$300 Billion a year is spent on stress-related health care costs. 77% of people working in offices are regularly experiencing physical malfunctions caused by stress. At Pause, we believe we are more equipped for these changing times than we realise, but grasping for quick fixes is not the answer to sustainable, long-term business health. There is another way, but it is counter-intuitive. It is not a quest for something new that will best support our current and future leaders, but a return to something old. Pause is a leadership journey that has foundations rooted in all aspects of what it means to be whole as a human in life and at work.
