Paxton House, an elegant Georgian House, with a Regency extension, furnished by Thomas Chippendale and William Trotter, set in the beautiful Scottish Borders. A fantastic day out in the Scottish Borders. 80 acres of woodlands, Highland Cattle, Salmon netting on the River Tweed, woodland walks,Adventure Playground, tea room serving home-made lunches, house tours, garden tours, special kids activities and more. Designed by John Adam, the House is perhaps the finest neo-Palladian mansion in the country with one of the best collections of Chippendale furniture in the UK, specially commissioned for the house. The 18th Century Costume collection of menswear is another major feature. We are a Partner Gallery of the National Galleries of Scotland with a custom built Picture Gallery full of artworks on loan from the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
