Peacegeeks

Based in Vancouver and Amman, PeaceGeeks is a nonprofit organization that builds digital tools to support greater connection, peace and safety for people who have been displaced and newcomers to Canada. We're one of the top 5 winners of the Google.org Impact Challenge Canada 2017, and recipient of the UN Intercultural Innovation Hub Award 2021, sponsored by UNAOC and BMW Group, among national awards in Canada. PeaceGeeks has several projects in motion, including an app that fast-tracks refugees and immigrants in Canada on a pathway to successful resettlement with a personalized directory of settlement services, as well as a capacity building program funded by Global Affairs Canada that supports artists, activists and youth in Jordan to respond to hate and violence in online spaces.
