Peat House

Since 2019 In the Kalnciems village, by the river near peat bogs, there is a Soviet-era building built in 1980. This building has slum status. The building has not been used for decades. Private family funds are invested in cleaning and restoration works. Step by step, the building is being renovated to create a peat art museum. The peat house will also have a peat workshop where works of art and products from peat will be created. 90% handmade is used to prepare peat. The aim of the Peat Museum is to summarize and make public the course of these traditions.
