Why "peculiar" kids? Most people immediately think negatively about the word "peculiar", but when you take the time to dig deeper you'll find there's more to this word: special distinct different individual Much like the word "peculiar", many people look at children with incarcerated parents and immediately have negative thoughts or feelings towards them, even if unintentionally. However, also like the word "peculiar", when you take time to dig deeper, you will find that these children (like ALL children) are SPECIAL, DISTINCTIVE and DIFFERENT. In a system that tends to forget about them, we want our peculiar kids to know that we see and support their INDIVIDUAL gifts, abilities, needs, and potential! Our US based program is working to end the cycle of incarceration within families by giving children a different path that will lead them to make informed and positive choices, and to prevent homelessness and human trafficking, specifically in Prince William County, Virginia.
