Pediasis

STORY OF PEDIASIS Every child is a little artist, every child is a little hero. A little hero is someone who knows how to live, how to cope with diseases, poverty and loss with just a small act. A hug. Because after all, the greatest thing of all is to love people. This small act is what started our whole story. PEDIASIS visualises a world where all children that are in need, where all people of arts will unite their love and through their participation they will contribute to their cure. The name of our social activity has been created from the words child (pedi) and cure (iasis) with an emphasis on the children of vulnerable groups. We bring all these children close to different forms of art ( theatre, music, dance, sculpture, drawing, literature). We give access to art when there is a barrier ( financial, loss of family environment, long term ailments as well as short term hospitalisation). We make the best use of various sites for the artistic activities of children of vulnerable groups, we motivate a whole network of artists and we embrace all the little artists throughout the world. The "Pediasis" project won the 1st place in 2014, in the Panhellenic contest "Launching People" by Samsung in the category of social action, among 262 contestants in total and was funded with to start its journey. The voting process lasted for 2 weeks and was completed with thousands votes of support from people in Greece and Europe.
