Peponi Woods

At Peponi Woods we specialize in low-impact, selective logging to maintain the health and vitality of our forests and trees. We only remove damaged, over-mature, and over-dense trees for our own sales. Using a mobile saw-milling platform, we are able to skip the heavy machinery and bring the sawmill to you. Whether you have a single tree or a hundred, live in a busy urban environment, or in the calm of the country, we can turn your tree resources into valuable lumber. Our business grew out of a passion for renewable, high-quality lumber with character that just cannot be found in the big-box stores. After having difficulty sourcing local, sustainable lumber products with the figure and character needed for our own projects, we decided to start milling trees into lumber ourselves. One of our first projects that led us down this path combined woods native to Africa with American Walnut. We love being in the woods and find working with the warmth of wood is pure paradise. From this our name was born: Peponi is an African word meaning paradise. Peponi Woods is based out of Hebron, IL in Mchenry County. We're only a few minutes outside of downtown Hebron and a short fifteen minutes to Lake Geneva, WI, Richmond, IL, Harvard, IL, or Woodstock, IL.
