Perfusio

Perfusio is a medical device company in Greenville, North Carolina. Perfusio’s first form factor, called Certes™, is FDA-cleared through the 510(k) process as a Class II device, to address the problem that humans cannot see blood flow distribution in tissues in visible light. Certes™ utilizes multiple wavelength illumination and AI-enhanced analytics based on laser speckle contrast imaging to display in immediate real-time MSPV - the multi-spectral physiologic visualization of the actual dynamic physiology of blood flow distribution in tissues. MSPV does not require patient contact, dyes, or ionizing radiation. It is safe for patients and providers, even when used multiple times during an operative procedure to enhance surgeon judgment and decision-making. MSPV immediately identifies which tissues have normal perfusion, and which tissues do not, giving the surgeon the opportunity to identify and correct perfusion problems at the time of the initial procedure. Certes™ resolves this dilemma by providing this new knowledge - the actual dynamic physiology of blood flow distribution, and where it is normal and where it is not – to the surgical team in immediate real-time. No waiting for analyzed results, and no disruption to the procedure workflow with the use of the device. For patients, providers, and hospital systems this new knowledge enables better decision-making, and can reduce major complication rates and generate better healthcare outcomes and cost efficiencies. But Perfusio doesn’t stop there – this new knowledge is also captured into the Perfusio-ARMUS Cloud Repository for ongoing machine learning and AI analytics on this multi-center imaging data for individual patient predictive analytics in real-time at surgery. Perfusio was founded in 2014 as RFPi, Inc. but company changed its name in 2021 to more accurately reflect its mission to transform surgical practice through a new standard of care.
