Petty Herbalist

Petty Herbalist is an organization that centers education of herbs, food & beverage, and herbal medicine with an emphasis on fun, accessibility to botany & herbalism, and shared knowledge. Petty Herbalist began as an instagram account; created to share the journey of, the original Petty Herbalist and founder, Karina DesRoses and her discovery of the world as a brand new, self-proclaimed, and self-studied herbalist. She started The Petty Herbalist Podcast with her best friend, and well-known herbalist, Asia Dorsey in September 2021. The Petty Herbalist Podcast is a weekly podcast with the following description: “Two Black herbalists and Bougie Aunties help you discern the real sh*t from the bullsh*t in food and herbs. Come share in the belovedness of Karina Desroses and Asia Dorsey as they explore food science and medicine making at the intersection of ancestral reverence, ecology and cultures of healing justice.” Currently, Petty Herbalist is teaching courses, partnering with other herbalists on retreats, and has on-going projects within the LA specialty coffee community. In the near future, Petty Herbalist is looking to get into Beverage Development and Sales.
