About Phase01 Crowd Safety Services Phase01 is an independent crowd safety and capacity advisory practice, specialising in the review and assessment of high-density environments, including major events, passenger hubs and public spaces. We support asset owners, developers, authorities and senior project teams by independently assessing whether crowd safety assumptions, capacity models and management strategies remain robust under peak, stressed and degraded conditions. Our work focuses on system-level risk, decision support and second-opinion reviews at critical design, approval and delivery stages. Our approach is evidence-based and grounded in recognised crowd science principles and international best practice. We regularly review crowd management plans, crowd flow analyses and simulation outputs, and carry out assumption stress testing to identify vulnerabilities before they manifest operationally. In addition to review and advisory work, Phase01 undertakes crowd flow analysis and modelling as a tool to test capacity, movement and evacuation performance in complex environments. This analytical capability supports both permanent and temporary venue assessments. Phase01 is led by Eric Kant, MSc, with experience across large-scale events, transport hubs and permanent venues in Europe and the Middle East.
