We transform underutilised cellulose, from wood or waste, into a refined and consistent building-block chemical, overcoming nature’s variability. Using our proprietary cellulose refinery technology, we standardise cellulose on a molecular level, regardless of source, allowing uniform, consistent and predictable nitration. Our innovations empower next-generation lateral-flow assays with enhanced consistency. The current inconsistencies of cellulose confine lateral-flow assays to a narrow range of applications: uniform, optimised nitrocellulose thus promises to be a game changer, unlocking broad, sensitive detection for multiple diseases. The result is a PCR-class diagnostic test allowing the rapid, robust and reliable detection of diseases at point-of-care. Our comprehensive approach, from extraction to formulation, transforms sustainably sourced cellulose into optimised nitrocellulose capable of replacing PFAS-based diagnostic membranes and unlocking diverse dual-use applications. Spanning healthcare, defence, and industrial coatings, this versatile chemical offers untapped potential that we are only just beginning to explore.
